Storing & Serving Tips
We recommend eating your treats within 2-3 days. If you know that you cannot or would like to save them for another time, simply double bag the treat allowing excess air to escape and freeze for up to 3 weeks. Unlike meat, bread and most desserts can be frozen and re-frozen. This little known fact allows us to avoid including preservatives – yay!
Yeast breads (Bread of the Month):
A whole loaf takes about 2 hours to thaw on the countertop. Rolls or cut slices take much less time. The bread is best served toasted or you can microwave it for 10-12 seconds.
Cinnamon or Cappuccino Rolls:
Keep wrapped and store on the counter away from the stove/oven. To keep the Cinnamon Rolls fresh, keep frozen. If using for brunch in the morning, take the rolls out of the freezer the night before and thaw on the countertop. Rolls are best thawed and then microwaved on a microwave-safe plate for 10-15 seconds.
Dessert breads (Tropical Zucchini Bread, Strawberry Bread) and Whoopie Pies/Cakes (Vintage Almond Pound Cake):
Store in the refrigerator. Or slice into individual pieces and freeze. An individual slice of cake takes only about 15 minutes to thaw.
Scones/Cookies/Tarts (Cherry Orange Scones):
Store in freezer. They only take about 10-15 minutes to thaw.
